Traditional Chimney Sweeping
Pascal uses the traditional brush and rod method with a high performance industrial vacuum to ensure a clean, efficient sweep. On completion of work, we issue a certificate of sweeping.
PH Olivier is a fully insured business. We are full members of APICS – the Association of Independent Professional Chimney Sweeps and HETAS approved Chimney Sweep.
The Chimney Sweeping Process
Please ensure that the fire / appliance to be swept has not been lit for at least 12 hours and remove all ash where possible.
Please bear in mind that the sweep is not authorised to remove or dispose of any waste occurred from sweeping.
Please allow an unobstructed walkway from the entrance door to the appliance / fire to be swept.
It is the householder’s responsibility to move or protect any valuables, ornaments, furniture or carpet prior to the chimneys being swept.
Please advise prior to appointment if there are any parking restrictions to the property.
Recommnded Frequency of Sweeping
*Solid / smokeless fuel appliances – Minimum once a year.
Domestic bituminous coal – Minimum twice a year.
Wood burning – Quarterly when in use.
*Chimneys with gas appliance – Once a year plus checked by a Gas Safe technician.
*Chimneys with oil appliances – Once a year plus checking by an OFTEC technician.
